Peaceful location in Keswick's conservation area, with traditional houses built from local slate and mountain views at every turn. Shops, restaurants, and cinema within 2-4 minutes' walk. Theatre and excellent supermarket 10 minutes' walk.
Walk from the door to Walla Crag, Skiddaw, Blencathra, Cat Bells and Castlerigg Stone Circle. Take a short, easy stroll to the top of Castle Head or Friars Crag with stunning views down Borrowdale Valley and to the surrounding fells.
Enjoy boat trips and canoing/kayaking on Derwentwater (12 mins walk). Superb walking and fell-running straight from the door. The Keswick half-marathon, with its incredibly scenic route around Derwentwater, is in May 2008.
Borrowdale House is stocked with plenty of maps and guides including a complete set of Wainwright's famous guides to walking in the Lake District.
