Borrowdale House an ideally-located holiday cottage – on a peaceful street, surrounded by beautiful scenery, yet with all the amenities of the charming market town of Keswick-on-Derwentwater close at hand.

It is an easy twelve-minute walk to the shores of Derwent Water, where you can take a cruise across the lake and view the magnificent scenery. The beautiful viewpoints of Castle Head and Friar's Crag are also a stroll away.There are many satisfying fell walks from the door, including Walla Crag, Saddleback/Blencathra, Skiddaw, and Cat Bells.
A short drive, bus or boat trip will take you into the heart of Borrowdale with some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country. Here you will find the start to classic Wainwright walks such as Scafell Pike, Haystacks and Great Gable. There are less well-trodden places to discover as well, including Glaramara and the beautiful Langstrath valley. From here you can continue deep into the remotest fells of the Lake District. Or for a more genteel day, visit the famous Lodore Falls and then relax with cream tea in picturesque Grange.

From Penrith station: take the bus just outside the station (35 mins; hourly) or call Davies Taxis on 017687 72676 (www.daviestaxis.co.uk).
By car fom the M6: exit at junction 40 and follow the A66 going west (25 mins).
